Kelly Bates, Esq.

Kelly brings many tools to manage difficult conversations and mediating conflict. Her communication style which has been explained as "flexible, open, safe, and provocative" provides a solid foundation for engaging in diversity work.

Kelly believes that change in organizations happens through individuals feeling that they are welcomed, included, supported and valued for who they are. As a biracial woman of African-American and European-American descent, building bridges and fostering this type of environment in organizations is very important to Kelly.

She specializes in leadership development, diversity, anti-discrimination, and harassment prevention in corporations, universities, foundations and nonprofits.

Kelly served as an adjunct professor, teaching courses on diversity and the law at Northeastern University School of Law, and Tufts Graduate School of Social Work.
She is a recipient of the Eureka-Boston Fellowship for Non-Profit Leaders, awarded, to recognize excellence and potential.

Kelly graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the State University of New York at Albany, and attended Boston University School of Law on a full scholarship from the Martin Luther King, Jr. Fellowship.
